Since we first opened our doors in 2001, our primary focus has always been on getting the job done right. We started in 2001 when Trevor McDonald decided to build a roofing company around a simple idea: homeowners deserve to know exactly who is working on their house and why. Trevor grew up around a family business; his parents, Brian and Dorothy McDonald, ran McDonald’s Flooring in Maple Ridge for more than 40 years before retiring, so he learned early what it takes to keep a local trade business running on reputation. Before starting Ridge Meadows Roofing, he completed business, marketing, and accounting courses and spent five years training as a roofer, so he understood both the craft and how to run the company properly.
That combination is still how we operate today. Close to 25 years and thousands of reroofs later, we have kept the same structure Trevor set out with: no subcontractors, no down payment required, and an owner who still shows up to every job. Trevor remains on site at every job, working alongside the crew and helping install every new roof we build. That kind of hands-on ownership is how we have always been run, and it is why our clients tend to know exactly who they are dealing with from quote to cleanup.
Unlike other roofing companies that often bring in subcontractors to the point that you do not know who is working on your home, we take a hands-on approach and work closely with our clients every step of the way. Our owner, Trevor, is on site for all of our reroofing projects to make sure the work is done properly the first time and that your questions get answered quickly and thoroughly. We also walk through the scope of work with you before anything begins. Our goal is to help you make the right call between repair and replacement, not to upsell you on work your roof does not need.
Every roof we install is completed by our own trained team members, never by subcontractors. Our crew works directly under Trevor’s supervision, which keeps the same standards in place from one job to the next regardless of which house we are on. We focus on residential reroofing: full tear-offs, fibreglass laminated shingle installations, and cedar shake to shingle conversions, so our training and experience stay concentrated on doing that work well rather than spreading across unrelated trades.
